New Craftshop in Mossel Bay

An exciting Craft Shop is now open for visitors, called „Ubuntu & Township Angels“ and situated right in town in 7 Church Street. Up to 10 artists are producing beautiful handcrafted souvenirs and decoration like wooden fishes and mobiles, coasters, wire- and beadworks, township art paintings, glassware, bags, jewellery, postcards, colourful painted figures made of papier mâché … just naming a few. The owners, Sandra & Hein, train local artists and give them a chance to develop their very special skills into a successful business.

Situated on a private farm 35 km just outside of Mossel Bay, Dragon Dune is a 320 m long and fast ride that will pump pure adrenalin through your veins.

There is nothing better than walking at the beach with sunshine and low tide! Mossel Bay offers a big variety of beautiful, unspoiled beaches in close vicinity. And if you go to Diaz Beach (about 8 minutes from Avenues Guesthouse), you might have the chance to find a Pansy Shell!

The Pansy Shell (Echinodiscus bisperforatus) is a fragile carcass of a sea urchin, which has a flimsy pattern of a Pansy on the one side. Alive, the carcass is crimson coloured and barbed.

Lions at Zorgfontein Walk with African Lions, a once in a lifetime experience!

A very special attraction is now available at Zorgfontein Eco & Wildlife Reserve, about 20 minutes drive from Avenues Guesthouse: Hiking with free roaming lions!
The lions got carefully used to human beings, so that you can get insight into their behaviour – without fences, leashes or collars. And during the walk you will get useful information about Africa’s most majestic predator from the guides of Zorgfontein.

Scuba Diving in Mossel Bay

Electrodive is one of the oldest and biggest dive clubs in South Africa and the only professional dive shop in Mossel Bay. We have been going for over 20 years and have trained thousands of divers and under water hockey players.
For those who don't dive, but would like to experience a "Rubber Duck" boat ride, we will take you around the bay and Point for a two hour ride. If you care to try snorkelling or fishing, this can be arranged.
